Institute of Business Administration (IBA)

Realizing the importance of business education, Department of Business Administration was established in 1972 in the University of the Punjab. Later on, in 1987, the department was upgraded to the Institute of Business Administration. This was a great mile-stone in the history of the University, as IBA was the second institute in Pakistan, where teaching of business administration was being offered. The Institute was shifted to its existing building in 1994. To date, IBA has produced 2275 MBAs, who are contributing their share of valuable services at both national and international level. In 1992, one year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration was also started. So far 414 students have finished their diplomas. The diploma holders are rendering their services in public and private sectors.
To impart management education to in-service executives working in public, private, local and multinational sectors, so that they could improve their professional skills and performance MBA evening was started in 1995. In the first five batches 575 students successfully completed the MBA program.
