LAHORE: (Tuesday, November 24, 2015): Punjab University Centre for South Asian Studies organized a seminar on “Strategic Leadership: A Key to Success”. On this occasion senior leader of Indian National Congress Mr Anil Kumar Shastri, Director CSAS Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, faculty members and MPhil/PhD scholars of CSAS and Department of Political Science were present. In his address, Anil Kumar Shastri said that before coming to Pakistan, they had some apprehensions in their mind about the public’s attitude towards them but they were pleasantly surprised because of so warm and pleasant welcome they have received wherever they visited. He said that he had observed that the people of Pakistan were very loving and it the same way the people of India had no issue with Pakistanis. However, the public of both countries should force their political leadership to come to the negotiating table and resolve the issues, he added more. He said that both the countries should develop people to people contact. He said that the people of other SAARC countries also want that India and Pakistan should peacefully resolve their issues that were the only way to prosperity in the region. He said that economic, social and cultural integration was the key to peace and prosperity in the region. Earlier in her address, Dr Umbreen briefed about CSAS and Department of Political Science performances and publications. She also paid her gratitude to the honorable guests for visiting Pakistan an particularly Centre for South Asian Studies.
