Minorities enjoy full liberty in Pakistan. Michael LAHORE: (Tuesday, December 15, 2015): Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael has said that minorities are enjoying complete religious independence in Pakistan and the country is progressing due to joint efforts of civil and military leadership. He was addressing the Christmas cake cutting ceremony organized by Punjab University’s Christian community at Faisal Auditorium here on Tuesday. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Senior Pastor Anwar Fazal, Foreign Ambassador Mr. Stiphen, MPA Shahzad Munshi, PML(N) leader Arif Hameed Butt, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Principal Law College Dr Shazia Naureen Qureshi, Social Worker Raja Munawar, Sanitary Inspector Ch Mushtaq Masih, administrative staff and a large number of Christian employees were present on the occasion. Paying tribute to Army Public School Peshawar victims, the federal minister said that the incident had united the nation. He said that Pakistan was the best Muslim country where Christians were being provided with their rights and liberty. He congratulated the organizers for arranging a successful ceremony. PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said that we must respect every citizen irrespective of his religion, sect, caste, color etc. He announced Rs 1000 each for Christian employees of Punjab University. Senior Paster Anwar Fazal lauded the role of Pakistan Army in war on terror. He said that the whole nation stood with Pakistan Army. He also prayed for the prosperity of the country. Arif Hmeed Butt said that minorities were not being treated in good manner in India while in Pakistan, minorities were safe. Chaudhry Mushtaq Masih said that the Christian community of Punjab University was organizing mega event on Christmas since 8 years because of the encouragement of Dr Mujahid Kamran.
