Pakistan’s defense in safe hands, Dr Mujahid Kamran
PU celebrates Pakistan Day with fervor


LAHORE: (Tuesday, March 22, 2016): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that Pakistan's defense is in safe hands and despite all difficulties Pakistan has become the only atomic Islamic country. He was addressing a mega ceremony organized by PU Directorate of Students Affairs at Faisal Auditorium, New Campus in connection with the celebrations of Pakistan Day here on Tuesday. PU Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Director Students Affairs Shahid Mahmood Gul, Principal Law College Dr Shazia Qureshi, Deputy Director Syed Zubair Akram, Resident Officer-II Malik Muhammad Zahir, senior faculty and administrative officers, employees and a large number of students were present.
In his address, Dr Kamran said that Pakistan always remained a threat to its enemies as it had strong army, abundance of human and natural resources, intellectuals and hard working people. He said that we must protect our independence ourselves which we had got after the efforts of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He congratulated the efforts of Directorate of Students Affairs and its team for organizing such a patriotic event. Students presented national songs, documentaries and a play titled “Umeed” which was highly lauded by the audience. Meanwhile, PU Center for South Asian Studies, Hailey College of Banking & Finance and Department of Mathematics also organized quiz competitions and debates in recognition of Pakistan Day. A large number of students and faculty members participated in these competitions and paid rich tributes to the founder of Pakistan and offered Dua for country's prosperity.
