Cultural festival held at PU ICS
Students wear Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi, Pakhtoon, Kashmiri dresses
LAHORE: (Thursday, 14 April 2016): In connection with the Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) Student Week 2016 a Culture Festival held at ICS featuring colour dresses of various cultures of Pakistan with the aim to promote nationalism and solidarity among people of all provinces here on Thursday.
A large number of students participated in the event. Baloch student wore their traditional shalwar kameez, whereas Sindhi caps and ajrak, Punjabi lacha kurta, Kashmiri and Pakhtun cultural dresses were also wore on by the students. The cultural music of all provinces was also played on occasion besides cultural dance performances by male students.
 
Earlier, a prize distribution ceremony was also held on occasion, in which certificates and trophies were distributed among toppers of different categories including cricket, badminton, table tennis, Luddu, tug-of-war, Urdu and Punjabi debates etc. MSc Development Journalism (DJ) won the cricket tournament whereas BS fourth semester lifted the Team Trophies with five first positions.
 
In-charge Director ICS Noshina Saleem, Asistant Professor Shabbir Sarwar, Fahad Mahmood and Ms Sana Naveed Khan while speaking on occasion said that the cultural day was aimed at spreading inter provincial harmony. They said that such events create awareness among students about Pakistan's culture. 
The last event of the Students Week, Sufi Night would held at AlRazi Hall tonight.
