LAHORE: (Thursday, May 19, 2016): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that creating inter-provincial harmony is not a difficult task and promotion of bilateral relations among the youth of the provinces is one of the best ways to promote inter-provincial harmony. He was addressing the participants during the visit of vice chancellors and position holder students from Balochistan to Punjab University at Al Raazi Hall here on Thursday.

On this occasion, Balochistan University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Javed Iqbal called PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran as “Custodian of Balochistan” due to his initiative of providing free education and boarding facilities and monthly scholarships to Balochistani students. PU Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Director Students Affairs Shahid Gul, Deputy Director Zubair Akram, senior faculty members and a large number of Balochistani students studying at PU were also present on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony, PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said that Balochistan had been neglected in the past. He said that PU was providing Rs 3,000 monthly scholarship to 239 students from Balochistan and free education and boarding facilities were also being provided to Balochistani students. He said that now our every ceremony began with national anthem and the people of Balochistan celebrated Pakistan more than the people of the Punjab did. He said that we were thankful to former Southern Command Commander Lt Gen (r) Nasir Janjua, present Commander Lt Gen (r) Aamir Riaz and Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zahri for improving situation in Balochistan. He said that we were also thankful to Balochistan Youth Affairs Department and Devote Balochistan’s Chairperson Salma Muhammad Hasni in this campaign.
