PU CEES winning third position in DICE competition


Students of College of Earth & Environmental Sciences (CEES), Mr. Qaiser and Ms. Nabila, presented their project along with other about 18 projects from Punjab University's students. (CEES) student presented project entitled “Electro-Coagulation process for Industrial Effluent Treatment (A Cost Effective Approach for Wastewater Treatment)” and has won 3rd position, cash prize money worth Rs. 40000/- in this Competition. The visitors, honorable Judges appreciated this innovative project of PU Students.
Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) University of the Punjab and UET Lahore, in collaboration with DICE foundation, USA has organized this all Pakistan DICE water and energy competition on 19-20 December, 2016 at Main Auditorium UET Lahore.
In inaugural session of this competition Director ORIC, Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz said that today's Competition is a continuation of the efforts of (ORIC) Punjab University, UET, Lhr and DICE Foundation USA to narrow down the gulf between industry and academia in Pakistan and thereby establishing the ground for their mutual input in restructuring the country on a strong industrial basis.
Under the umbrella of ORIC, various departments like MMG, CEES, Institute of Chemistry, IQTM and ICET presented their projects in this 2 days competition. In this competition students of University of the Punjab showcased their 18 different innovative projects on water and energy. Worthy Vice Chancellor of PU allocated funds for this competition's logistics and other support for participating in this competition.
The event called for academia, industry, government & entrepreneurs to showcase their innovation, technologies, share knowledge and further collaboration with each other.
