PU VC vows to uphold merit


LAHORE: (Tuesday, October 31, 2017): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir has said that he had established merit policy in Punjab University he would not compromise over merit at any cost. He was addressing a colorful ceremony organized by Directorate of Students Affairs to celebrate 135th birth anniversary of Punjab University at Faisal Auditorium here on Tuesday. Director Students Affairs Shahid Gul, Deputy Director Zubair Akram, senior faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir said that he joined Punjab University with the mission to bring it amongst the top universities of the world and he started to implement his vision by mentioning “Gateway to Excellence” at Gate No 2. He said that he was a man of principle and that’s why he had annoyed many people.

He said that he would continue to work on merit until he was the vice chancellor. He said that PU had a glorious past and his future was also bright as PU students would bring it to limelight. He said that we would create the same emotions amongst our youth for which Pakistan was created. He said that he would continue to play his role in order to bring PU amongst the top universities of the world. On this occasion, students presented national songs and Sufiana Kalam.
