PU CSAS organizes seminar on CPEC


LAHORE: (Friday, November 24, 2017): Punjab University Centre for South Asian Studies has organized seminar on “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor” in its auditorium. Centre School of Public Administration-University of Geosciences China’s Director Xiaoqing Xie was the keynote speaker. CSAS Director Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, faculty members, MPhil/ PhD scholars were present on the occasion. In her address, Xiaoqing Xie said that CPEC was a very significant project for both China and Pakistan; however, some people decipher that which country will get more benefits from this project. She said that various Chinese companies and factories were ready to invest huge amount in Pakistan. In this regard, many Pakistanis would be given technical training, she said, adding there would be more placement opportunities with handsome wages. She further said that several countries around the world were criticizing the project however we have to confront them jointly and reply their criticism. Later, she invited Pakistani students to come to China for advanced education.
