Faculty and students of Institute of Applied Psychology presented their research covering the psychological aspects of COVID-19 at the e Conference on COVID-19; Changing Horizons. The virtual conference was hosted by the Institute of Clinical Psychology UMT. Research was presented by Dr Fatima Kamran, Dr Afsheen Masood, Dr Afifa Anjum. Dr Rafia Rafique, Director Institute of Applied Psychology gave the key note speech on the role of psychologists in time of pandemic. Dr Rafia was of the opinion that it is important to psycho-educate the masses about mental health issues that are arising due to this pandemic. Free online Counseling and telemedicine services can help people improve their quality of life by addressing psychological issues like stress, anxiety, depression, anger, marital problems etc. Her concern was that pandemic is likely to end in due course of time but the long term psychological impact is likely to linger on for many years.
