PU Library conducts program


LAHORE: (Tuesday, June 8, 2021): Under complete compliance of Covid-19 SOPs, the Punjab University Library conducted its June 2021 Book Club program online, in which introductory talks on two books were presented. The books of the month were “Can you hear the nightbird call? By Anita Rao Badmi” and “Jadeediyat aur Nauabadiyaat by Nasir Abass Nayyar” The program was attended by nearly 100 national and international participants online. The introduction on the English novel of Anita Rao Badmi was presented by Prof Dr Prabhjot Parmar, Associate Professor of English, University of the Fraser Valley, Canada. She beautifully presented the subject of the novel which has multiple notions. Her talk on the book was highly appreciated by the audience. The talk on the book of Nasir Abass Nayyar was presented by Dr Shahzeb Khan, Assistant Professor English Dept. PU. He provided a critical yet interesting comparison of the ideologies of modernity and coloniality in literature its implications on social life in countries with colonial past. Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani, Chief Librarian PU Library, thanked the speakers and participants for their lively contribution to the program and help in promoting PU Library’s vision of book reading and loving culture.
