Institute of Applied Psychology Annual Sports Day 2017
Institute of Applied Psychology, University of Punjab celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 17th March 2017 with full zeal and zest. Prof Dr. Farah Malik, Director of IAP and CCP inaugurated the Sports Day along with Chief Guest Ms. Shamsa Hashmi, Director, Sports Department Punjab University, IAP and CCP faculty members by cutting ribbon and releasing lanterns in the air. A great gathering of many students uplifted the essence of sports and its inclusion in our daily life. In the opening ceremony the students of IAP showed great enthusiasm and participated in various activities including energetic aerobics, diverse and creative cultural performances, and attention provoking quick game challenges.
Prof. Dr. Farah Malik formally addressed the audience by welcoming the chief guest and highlighted the importance of sports in building mental health of students. Various stalls were also residing among the games and activities, which were mainly highlighted by food items and accessories. The celebrations continued with different sports, starting with races including 100 meter race, spoon race, three leg race, back race. Then it continued with football match between boys of IAP who showed great talent and sportsmanship. All sessions participated in zealous badminton matches, the fun prolonged with various cricket matches that highlighted the attention and enthusiasm of everyone. The sports day ended with tug of war between various classes, prize distribution ceremony and vote of thanks from Prof. Dr. Farah Malik appreciating the efforts of organizing committee and students for their active participation, cohesion, harmony and spirit throughout the day.
