PU VC calls for helping Rohingiyan Muslims


LAHORE: (Thursday, September 14, 2017): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir has called upon international community and Organization of Islamic Conference to help Rohingiyan Muslims in this critical time of crisis where they were becoming victims of brutalities. He was addressing a rally taken out by PU administration, faculty members and students here outside Faisal Auditorium. Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Abid Hussain Chaudhry, Director Students Affairs Shahid Gul, Resident Officer 1 Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed, Principal College of Earth and Environmental Sciences Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, Dr Mahboob Hussain, faculty members and a large number of students participated in the rally.

Addressing the rally, he said that Pakistan expressed solidarity with Rohingiyan Muslims and PU always stood against such atrocities. He said that international community must take serious notice of human rights violations in Rohingiya and provide relief to Rohingiyan Muslims. He said Myanmar government had usurped basic rights of Rohingiyan Muslims and all the humanity must express solidarity with them. Later, the participants offered dua for the Rohingiyan Muslims.
