LECTURE ON 'SMOG' AT CENTRE FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES


A Lecture on Smog- nature, origin and impact was organized by Centre for Undergraduate Studies on November 16, 2017 in its Al-Raazi Hall at 10.45 in the morning. Prof. (Emeritus), Dr. S. Razi A. Shamsi, a renowned Ecologist and Environmental pollution expert gave a comprehensive view on smog including its formation, brief history, effects on crops and human health and control. He also elaborated in detail several preventive measures one should adopt in order to be safe from this environmental menace. The lecture was followed by an interactive Q&A session in which both the faculty as well the students posed interesting questions and informative comments.
Earlier, the Director, Undergraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Faheem Aftab welcomed the guests and students and introduced the speaker to the audience. The lecture was also attended by Emeritus (Prof.) Dr. Javed Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Jamil Anwar, Prof. Dr. Qazi Javed Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Sajid Rashid Ahmad and Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad along with faculty and undergrad students of Botany, Zoology and Chemistry.
