Quaid's Day Celebration at PU Jhelum Campus


Friday 22nd December 2017: University of the Punjab, Jhelum Campus had celebrated Quaid's Day on Friday 22 nd December 2017 in collaboration with District Administration Jhelum to give tribute to the Father of the Nation. Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah; a leader who changed the World, better to summarize in the words of Stanley Wolpert, “Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state . Muhammad Ali Jinnah did all three”.
Dr Muhammad Mudasar Ghafoor, Director PU Jhelum Campus welcomed all the guest and shared the kind efforts of Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasar, The Worthy Vice Chancellor PU Lahore in accomplishing the vision of our beloved leader Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Deputy Commissioner Jhelum (DC) Mr Iqbal Hussain Khan was the Chief Guest of the ceremony and Prof. Jalil Aali (Keynote Speaker) was the Guest of Honor. Besides these Mr Zulfiqar Ahmad (ADCG), District Monitoring Officer, Mailk Wajid (CO Education), Mr Aziz ur Rehman (DDC) and other high ranked district administration officials attended the ceremony. In addition to district administration literary personalities also attended the ceremony like Mr. Aamir Kiyani (Speaker, UK), Mr. Idrees Azad (Speaker), Mr. Arshad Shaheen (Poet), Mr Ateeq-ur-Rehman (Poet), Mr. Sayyed Ansar (Poet), Prof Irshad Hussain Irshad (Poet), Mr Mirza Baig Sikandar (Poet), Mr. Amjad Mir (Poet), Mr Iqbal Nazir (Poet), Mr Rehmat Ullah Javeed (Poet), Mr Ahsan Shakir (Poet) and Mr Shahzad Qamar (Poet). It is worth mentioning that all the faculty members, administrative staff and students of PU Jhelum Campus attended the Ceremony.
The purpose of this event was to highlight the charismatic personality of Quaid-i-Azam and his vision regarding the establishment of our beloved Pakistan. While addressing Prof. Jalil Aali highlighted the struggle of Jinnah and suggested students' focus on their studies because it's the time to pull back Pakistan on the right track, track proposed by Jinnah. He further added the youth of Pakistan has all the required potential that can lead Pakistan to the prosper nation so that Pakistan can stand in the list of developed nations, for this they don't have to do much, just follow the vision of our Quaid. Mr Aamir kiyani added that there is a dire need to promote our own culture and language in every aspect life in this way we can build our own identity in this World. Time management, punctuality and hard work was the key to success for Jinnah added by Mr Idrees Azad. He suggested students if they concentrate on these they can be the next Jinnah of Pakistan.
Mr Iqbal Hussain Khan (DC) acknowledged that knowledge shared by the speakers and poets in the honour of Jinnah and expressed his gratitude to the Director Dr Mudasar, Chief Organizer Haroon Iqbal (Lecturer Administrative Sciences) for smoothly organizing the event in such a short notice. He further added that we all have to work together in a positive way and support each other so that we can take Pakistan at the level which our Quaid dreamed of.
The ceremony ended with the exchange of shields between Mr Iqbal and Dr Mudasar. They also handed over the honorary shields to the speakers and Poets. They further thanked the Media Persons for attending and giving coverage to this event. All the guests appreciated the efforts of University of the Punjab, Jhelum Campus for organizing such a fruitful ceremony in the honour of Father of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
