Hailey College of Banking & Finance, in collaboration with Lahore City Traffic Police, organized a Seminar to enhance the awareness of young generation regarding traffic rules. The officials of Lahore City Traffic Police under the leadership of Mr. Rai Ijaz Ahmed, SSP/CTO and Mr. Asif Siddique, SP Lahore City Traffic Police, conducted the Seminar. They briefed the students about the importance of traffic rules. A detailed review of the security measures to be adopted by the drivers and pedestrians while moving on the road was presented. SOPs for the drivers on highway were also elaborated. The officials briefed about common mistakes and errors which lead to fatal incidents. Students were advised to become counselors to their respective families and social circles to promote responsible attitude while on roads. Consequences of the irresponsible attitude and their impact on life were also presented in detail. Visual aids were used to enhance the interactivity of the Session.

In his address the SP, Lahore City Traffic Police, Mr. Asif Siddique advised the students to refrain from using cell phones while driving their vehicles. He also stressed upon the need to follow traffic rules and avoid driving on the wrong side as it causes threat to human life. The younger generation was advised not to fall prey of the thrill, as it leads to death. Students were assured of logistical support for getting driving license on the Campus through mobile squad of Lahore City Traffic Police.

Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan, Principal, Hailey College of Banking & Finance, advised the students that compliance to the Laws in force is the injunction of religion and demand of the good citizenship. Adherence to traffic laws ensures protected roads for the children. This creates a sense of satisfaction in the parents. He reiterated the obligation to look after once life and physique as enunciated in the teachings of Islam. He advised the students to protect themselves by abiding with the traffic rules. “Your parents have invested their fortune to make you a success and it is your responsibility to make their dreams come true” was the crux of his speech.

The students took active part in the Session and raised relevant questions to understand their duties and their rights. At the close of the Session, Souvenirs were presented to the Guests.
