Restructuring and Reorganization of Ph.D Programme
In view of the present dismal scenari regarding the number of Ph.D produced by general universities of the country in natural, physical and social sciences vis-a-vis its requirements, there is an urgent need to reorganize and reorganize Ph.D programme in science and Technology/social sciences and in Education.
Aims of The Ph.D Programme
The resent Ph.D programme of Punjab University of is not in consonance with the needs and priorities of the country and needs purposeful, direction oriented reorganization. The following are major objective:
1. To prepare scientific/Education manpower with depth of scholarship and research competence of international level to fill senor positions in Research organizations, Industry, Management, Universities and Educational Institutions.
2. To establish centres of research of high quality both fundamental and applied in the university.
3. To improve the qualification of teachers and thus provide competent teachers at all levels of Education universities, colleges and schools.
