LAHORE: (July 04): Sir Ganga Ram Heritage Foundation organized the book launching ceremony of a book written on the first ever Law Minister and architect of the Indian Constitution Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. The title of the book is “Founder of Secular Democratic India’ by Yousaf Irfan. Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran was the chief guest on the occasion while Prof Ronki Ram and Lahori Ram Bali of India, guests from Nepal and Bangladesh and literary personalities of Lahore and writer of the book Yousaf Irfan also attended the ceremony which was held at Avari Hotel, Lahore.

Speaking on the occasion, VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said Dr Ambedkar struggled hard to eliminate untouched ability and social injustice from India and served the humanity. He said the real reason of Pakistan’s establishment was the discriminately attitude of Hindu with Muslims and Dr Ambedkar’s constitution had saved India from further partition. He said the Pakistani government should provide subsidized books so that people could have any easy access to books and this would leads to form an educational society. Dr Mujahid appealed everybody to change their behaviours and avoid biasness and partiality in the routine life.

Prof Satia Gotam, who is teacher of Philosophy in Jawahar Lal Nehru University, said there is shortage of literature on Dr Ambedkar in Pakistan even then writing of a comprehensive book on the personality of the Indian revolutionary is a great achievement. He said this book will help Pakistani people to learn fighting against injustice, Lahori Ram Bali, an old Indian journalist, said he had worked with Dr Ambedkhar for five years. He said in 1930, Dr Ambedkar attended the Second Roundtable Conference in London with Dr Allama Iqbal and Muslims’ delegation supported Dr Ambedkar instead of Gandhi.

Prof Ronki Ram highlighted various aspects of Dr Ambedkar’s life. Sir Ganga Ram Heritage Foundation’s Director Dr Mujahid Ali Mansoori said Pakistani nation is facing the constitutional crisis and curse of land lordship and Dr Ambedkar had struggled to get India people rid of these two problems. He said this was the reason that the Foundation selected the personality of Dr Ambedkar and arranged writing of a book. He said the work will prove helpful for Pakistan to get out of the constitutional crisis.

Dr Mansoori said confession is a great power and we confess that the constitutional process which started in India, made it a strong power but it was only possible due to the efforts of Dr Ambedkar.
