LAHORE (Friday, March 13): Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has expressed deep sorrow over the sad demise of PU Oriental College former principal and Government College University Faculty of Arts Dean Prof Dr Sohail Ahmad Khan. He said the academic and literary services of Dr Sohail Khan were unforgettable. In his condolence message, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that Dr Sohail performed tremendous services for the promotion of Urdu language in the country. Dr Sohail Khan died yesterday at the age of 62 years. Presently, he was serving Government College University as Dean Faculty of Arts.

Earlier, he served in Punjab University Oriental College for over 30 years. He served PU Urdu Department as Chairman and then in 2002, when he was Principal Oriental College , he resigned due to his personal reasons. Later he joined Government College University in 2003. The deceased left three daughters behind. His funeral prayer was offered yesterday after Asar prayer at 205-Z, DHA Phase 3. A large number of faculty members from Punjab University and Government College University attended the funeral prayer.
