LAHORE (July 16): Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran visited the under-constructed buildings of Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (MMG), Department of Women Studies and Department of Space Science here at New Campus on Wednesday and directed the Project Director and contractors to complete the work as soon as possible so that the classes and the teachers’ offices could be shifted to the new building at the earliest.

During the vice-chancellor’s visit to the under constructed buildings of the department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (MMG) Prof Dr Shahida Hasnain briefed him about the facilities of laboratories, classrooms, common rooms and faculty offices.

The VC directed Project Director Sheikh Muhammad Ali and the contractor to complete one portion of the building within one month and also complete other portions of the building as soon as possible so that the department could be shifted to the new building. During visit to building of Women Studies Department, Prof Dr Samar Fatima briefed the vice-chancellor that at the start of new session, the department would require at least four lecture rooms on urgent basis at which the VC called the contractor and directed him to complete the remaining work within two months. Dr Javed Sami briefed the VC Dr Mujahid during his visit to the building of Space Science department.

On the occasion, the VC also directed the treasurer to pay the outstanding dues to the contractors as soon as possible so that they could expedite the construction work. He also directed the contractors to dispose off the rubble and waste once the buildings are completed.
