LAHORE (Tuesday, March 17): Government of Pakistan has conferred on ‘Seerat Awards' to three faculty members of the Punjab University . PU Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre (SZIC) faculty member Dr Muhammad Abdullah's article on “Taaleemat-e-Nabwi (PBUH) Aur Alamgir Tehzeeb Ka Tasawar” was given first prize while the article of SZIC faculty member Dr Hafiz Abdul Qayyum was given second prize while the article of PU Department of Islamic Studies faculty member Hafiza Shahida Parveen was given second prize in women categories.
Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani gave away prizes and certificates to the faculty members during National Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference held on March 10 on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) at Jinnah Convention Centre.
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has congratulated the faculty members and said that the awards were of pride not only for their departments but also for Punjab University .
