LAHORE (Wednesday, March 18): Punjab University Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) in collaboration with Centre for Applied Molecular Biology (CAMB) will organize a 4-day International Symposium on “Future Trends in Molecular Biological Research & Its Applications in Agriculture and Health” from March 25-28.
The inaugural ceremony of the symposium will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 11:00am at the Centre. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will preside over the inaugural ceremony while former and present members of Board of Governors, vice-chancellor Arid Agriculture University , vice-chancellor Agriculture University , member Planning Commission, representatives of other varsities and educational institutions and professionals will attend the session.
The symposium will serve as a forum for life scientists in the country to exchange views in a background of recent findings in genetics, molecular biology and its commercial applications. The overall aim of the symposium is to guide researchers in the fields of plant and medical molecular biology to address national problems of economic importance in agriculture and health sectors.
The symposium will also include workshops on uses of genetically modified organisms, applications of bioinformatics in the fields of agriculture and health and forensic uses of DNA typing.
