LAHORE (April 21): Punjab University’s debating team has won the ‘All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest 2008’ held at National University of Science & Technology (NUST)’s College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Rawalpindi from April 18-20. Students of the King Edward Medical College University (KEMCU) were declared the runner-up.
Punjab University’s two-member central team including Irtaza Afzaal from Law College participated in the English debate while Atif Ali from PU College of Information Technology participated in Urdu contest. Showing extra-ordinary debating skills in the all rounds of the contest, the PU team won the Team trophy (first position).
The team was prepared by Adviser Students Affairs Dr Mujahid Ali Mansoori and Deputy Adviser Students Zubair Akram. A total 32 educational institutions participated in the contest including PAF College Risalpur, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Agriculture University Faisalabad, GC University Lahore, UET Lahore, Frontier Medical College, Baluchistan University, Gomal University, Jamshoro University, IBA Karachi, Naval College Karachi etc. |
