LAHORE: (July 21): Punjab University has appointed senior teacher Prof Dr Saeed Ahmad Nagra, who is also Chairman Hall Council, as Director Institute of Chemistry. A notification has been issued in this regard. Earlier, Prof Dr Jamil Anwar Chaudhry, who is also Dean Faculty of Science, Director Undergraduate Studies and Chairman PU Admission Committee, was performing the duties of Director Institute.
Dr Jamil Anwar Chaudhry, who has completed two tenures as Director Institute of Chemistry, expressed his desire that since he is performing other responsibilities in the varsity so some other senior teacher should be appointed as Director Chemistry.
Dr Nagra is a reknowed researcher as his 80 research papers have been published in national and international research journals. He has also won the distinction of ‘best teacher award from HEC’. He did his PhD from Agriculture University Faisalabad and post-doctorate from Stuttguart University, Germany. His total educational services are 32 years including 28 years service in PU. He is a fellow of Chemical Society of Pakistan and fellow Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences. |
