LAHORE (April 01): Principal Officer of American Consulate General Mr. Bryan D. Hunt has shown a beam of light to the Pakistani nation by saying that Pakistani nation has great potential to join the developed world and meet it in its social and economic prosperity. He was addressing a gathering of Punjab University teachers in a reception hosted by Prof. Shafiq Jullandhry. The reception was also attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran, Prof Mehdi Hasan, Iqbal Hussain Malik, Chaudhry Muhammad Akram, Ch. M. Siddiq, Prof Saeed Nagra, Prof Dr Bashir Ahmad, Prof Zafar Iqbal Jadoon, Prof Mansoor Sarwar, Prof Mujahid Mansoori and many prominent journalists.

Bryan Hunt said that Pakistani nation has passed many trails throughout its history and present problems are not very big for it. Pakistan needs good political system and neat and clean politics. Through a democratic process it will solve its problems.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran speaking on the occasion said that Pakistan can come out of its difficulties through liberal and quality education. Education can alleviate poverty and eradicate terrorism and extremism. Prof Mehndi Hassan said that for improving the quality of education selection of proper teachers from elementary to university level is very important. Mian Saif-ur-Rehman and Rana Tohid also spoke on the occasion.
