LAHORE (April 23): Punjab University Library celebrated World Book & Copyright Day (April 23) here New Campus on Wednesday. A special lecture was also arranged on the occasion.

Chief Librarian Ch Muhammad Hanif delivered the lecture and highlighted the importance of book reading in the rise and fall of the societies. On the occasion, brochures, stickers and book marks were distributed among the library users to create awareness regarding World Book & Copyright Day in the university community and banners were displayed on prominent places of the varsity. A special web page designed to promote World Book Day welcome its users at library website www.pulibrary.edu.pk.

The objective of all these activities was to promote reading habits in the society. While the society today lacks reading habits and is busy in wasting its precious time and leisure moments in non-productive activities.
