LAHORE (April 25): A teacher must be equipped with sufficient vocabulary, command over English and Urdu languages and clarity of vision in order to express can express his/her views before the students. A good teacher prepares his lectures with hardwork, commitment and honesty and delivers it with clear concepts and fluency.
These views were expressed by Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran while addressing an orientation programme of new teachers organized by Human Resource Development Centre of PU Institute of Administrative Sciences here New Campus on Friday.
Institute’s Director Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Jadoon and faculty members of various teaching departments were also present on the occasion. The VC said that a good teacher teaches students while keeping in mind their psychology and the same thing help him strengthen interaction with them. He said that teachers must be highly committed and honest while fulfilling their professional responsibilities.
Dr Mujahid Kamran said a vice-chancellor has the responsibility to provide congenial academic environment in the varsity, which is not possible without the cooperation of faculty members. He said students must be provided with such an environment in which they can learn maximum. He said that inner satisfaction is the most important thing to get real happiness.
In his welcome address, Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Jadoon said the orientation programme would help understand teachers’ problems in various PU departments. He praised the PU Human Resource Development Centre for conducting vrious programmes in this regard. |
