LAHORE (July 25): A team of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) called on Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran on Thursday and expressed their satisfaction on the performance of PU Institute of Quality and Technology Management (IQTM).

The team included PEC Member Governing Body engineer Amanullah, Mehran University Industrial Engineering Dept Chairman Dr Hussain Baksh Marri, NED University Industrial Engineering Dept Chairman Dr Muhammad Tufail and PEC Deputy Registrar Jehanzeb.
VC told the delegation that IQTM has very beautiful building and the faculty and students’ performance is also up to the mark. He said that university is constructing new buildings of the departments of space science, women studies, sociology and Micro Biology and Molecular Genetics. He said that PU is trying to enhance its income/funds through own resources.
IQTM Director Dr Niaz said that the objective of the PEC accreditation team’s visit to PU was to consider recognition of BS Engineering (Industrial Engineering and Management) program of IQTM. The delegation has termed the institute as “one of the best in PU,” he added.
Earlier the delegation visited different department of the institute and interacted with its faculty members. For further improving the performance of the institute, the PEC team also recommended to enhance the number of PhD faculty members and improvement of laboratories of the institute.
