LAHORE: April 30: Punjab University has awarded PhD degrees to Saima Sadaf, Kalsoom Akhtar, Habib Amjed and Amjad Ali. Saima Sadaf D/o Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry has been awarded PhD degree in the subject of Biotechnology after completion of her thesis entitled ‘Cloning, Over-Expression and Characterization of Somatotropin Gene of a Local Bubaline Breed’. She completed her thesis under the supervision of PU School of Biological Sciences Director Prof Dr Muhammad Waheed Akhtar.
Kalsoom Akhtar D/o Maqsood Ahmad has been awarded PhD degree in the subject of Chemistry after completion of her thesis entitled ‘Removal and Recovery of Heavy Metals From Industrial Effluents/Bacterial Leachate by Microbial Biomass’. She completed her thesis under the supervision of PU School of Biological Sciences Director Prof Dr Muhammad Waheed Akhtar while National Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE) Faisalabad Principal Scientist Officer Dr Muhammad Khalid was co-supervisor.
Habib Amjed S/o Murad Bux was awarded PhD degree in the subject of Chemistry after completion of his thesis entitled ‘Estimation of the Residues of Antibiotics in Poultry Products Available in Local Markets’. He completed his thesis under the supervision of Prof Dr Javed Iqbal of Institute of Chemistry, University of the Punjab.
Amjad Ali S/o Muhammad Latif was awarded PhD degree in the subject of Punjabi after completion of his thesis entitled ‘The Concept of Humanism in Punjabi Poetry’. He completed his thesis under the supervision of Prof Dr Ismatullah Zahid, Chairman, Department of Punjabi, Punjab University Oriental College. |
