LAHORE (Thursday, March 05): Media should not repeat the issues of negative effects again an again and should present positive aspects of the society also. This was the essence of the speakers of a seminar on “Media and Awareness” arranged by the Centre for Clinical Psychology of Punjab University. It was presided over by Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Universiy. Lord Dr Shaukat Nawaz Khan was special guest speaker and Dean Faculty of Science Dr Jamil Anwar was special guest on the occasion whereas acting director of Centre Dr Aisha Sitwat welcomed the guests as an organizer. Lord Dr Shaukat Nawaz Khan said that there is pressure on the media and it is owned by the vested interests, we must be very careful in its use. He said that university intellectuals can play an important role in creating awareness about health and social problems by using the media. Dr Jamil Anwar said that along with media, parents, teachers, Ulema and politicians must play their role in proper education of the youth.
