The Academic Council of the University of the Punjab, at its meeting held on 24th April, 1983, after considering the recommendations of the Directors/ Principals/ Chairmen of the University Teaching Institutes/ Constituent Colleges/ Departments, Deans of the Faculties and Admission Committee, proposed the under mentioned Regulations for admission to M.A., M.Sc., M.P.A/M.B.A/ M.Com., M.Sc. (IT), M.Sc. (GIS), M.F.A, M.L.S., MBIT, L.L.B./B.Sc. (Engg.)/B.Sc. Applied Geology B.A./B.Sc (Hons.) BBIT, Pharm-D, B.Com., BBA, B.F.A, Certificate/Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma, M.Phil. and Ph.D classes of the University Teaching Institutes /Constituent / Affiliated Colleges/ Departments. These Regulations were approved by the Syndicate at its meeting held on 3 rd September, 1983.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any of the University Regulations, admission for each academic year in the University Institutes/ Constituent/Affiliated Colleges/Departments shall be made in accordance with these Regulations.
