LAHORE: (Wednesday, September 03, 2025): Punjab University and the University of Management and Technology (UMT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) hosted by the PU Department of Social Work to promote academic excellence and community engagement. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Worthy Vice Chancellor PU, and Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi, Provost UMT, while Prof. Dr. Uzma Ashiq, Chairperson Department of Social Work, along with faculty, deans and chairpersons from UMT and PU also participated. The partnership focuses on joint research, faculty and student exchange, seminars and conferences, and community based projects aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). PU VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali emphasized the role of public-private partnerships in addressing social challenges, while Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi highlighted the shared vision of both institutions for innovation and societal impact. The Department of Social Work will serve as the focal point to ensure the effective implementation of this collaboration.
