IJT’s seeks restoration of expelled students: spokesperson

IJT’s seeks restoration of expelled students: spokesperson

LAHORE: (Wednesday, October 01, 2025): A Punjab University spokesperson has said that the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) is trying to put pressure on the administration with political ambitions, whose main demand is restoration of the expelled students involved in crimes. He said that the administration has taken action against the miscreant students to provide a peaceful environment to 55,000 on-campus students. He said that this year the fee has not been increased by even a single rupee and the present fee structure is as per 2024’s fee structure. He said that the main problem of the Jamiat is the closure of its unlawful business in the university. He said that the workers of the IJT can neither take extortion from the canteens nor can they rent out the hostel rooms. He said that the workers of the IJT are no longer provided with the facility of free washing of clothes and free food from the canteens due to the incumbent administration’s measures. He said that the university administration has closed down all the illegal businesses of IJT, which is why the IJT is angry. He said that due to the university’s one account, departmental and university fees are now being collected through a single account. He said that does IJT have any official notification in which it can prove the increase in fees? He said that 3,000 allotments in hostels have been made on merit, which has never happened before.
