August 29, 2025 - The Department of Plant Pathology (DPP), University of the Punjab, Lahore, participated in the national workshop on “Plant Health Networking – Building a Resilient Future” organized by the Center for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security (CAS-AFS) at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), in collaboration with the USDA, University of Florida, and UC Davis. The DPP team, Prof. Dr. Amna Shoaib (Chairperson), Prof. Dr. Uzma Bashir, Dr. Tariq Manzoor (Assistant Professor), and Numan Ali (MS student) contributed to discussions on strengthening Pakistan’s plant health systems and future collaboration. The workshop highlighted the establishment of a National Plant Diagnostic Network (NPDN) to improve coordination in plant protection and ensure national food security.
