Professor Dr. Nousheen Zaidi Receives the Georg Forster Research Award

The University of the Punjab is pleased to announce that Professor Dr. Nousheen Zaidi (Institute of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, University of the Punjab) has received the Georg Forster Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany). The Georg Forster Research Award is a prestigious international academic honour that recognizes internationally distinguished scholars from developing and transition countries for outstanding research contributions and for strengthening long-term academic collaboration with research institutions in Germany. The award carries an award amount of €60,000, along with sponsorship for research stays in Germany and support for postdoctoral collaboration from Pakistan, enabling sustained international research engagement. Professor Dr. Nousheen Zaidi’s research spans environmental health, water quality, cancer biology, and interdisciplinary public-facing scholarship, with a strong emphasis on addressing structural health inequities in Pakistan.
