An event regarding "International Mountain Day 2019" was organized in Centre for Integrated Mountain Research (CIMR), University of the Punjab, Lahore-Pakistan on December 11, 2019. The theme of this years' mountain day was "Mountains Matter for Youth". The purpose of the event was to highlight how youth can play their effective role in sustainable mountain development of the region. It was concluded that “Young people are active agents of change and the leaders of tomorrow”. At the end cake cutting ceremony and awareness walk about the event theme was also conducted. The faculty members, alumni and a large number of students participated in the event.
