PU IAP organized a panel discussion to celebrate Women’s Day 2023


Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab, organized a panel discussion to celebrate Women’s Day 2023 with the theme “Empowered Women Empower Women”. Dr. Fatima Kamran Associate Professor and program coordinator MS Health Psychology arranged and moderated an interactive session where inspirational women from all walks of life shared their journeys. The aim was to acknowledge the struggles of women and ways to cope with the sociocultural challenges faced by women in Pakistan. The esteemed panelists included Prof. Dr. Amina Muazzam, Chairperson, Department of Applied Psychology, LCWU; Dr. Maria Haque, Consultant Radiologist, Mayo Hospital Lahore; Ms. Komal Faisal, Psychologist, Trainer and Educationists; Dr. Hajira Usman, Family Physician; Ms. Shazia Shahbaz, Home Maker; Ms. Saman Zubair, Marriage Consultant; Ms. Saima Pirzada, Fashion Designer; Ms. Ambreen Fatima, social Activist & Lawyer and Ms. Rohina Imtiaz, Motivational Speaker. The Guest speakers highlighted the role of women in different sectors of society. The Guest Speakers motivated and guided young girls to be more empowered. The Director Institute of Applied Psychology, Prof. Dr Rafia Rafique asserted that it's the competence of women that enables them to play their role in different capacities. The discussion was followed by a question answer session in which students participated and asked questions to the guest speakers. The event was attended by Faculty Members of IAP including Dr. Saima Ghazal, Associate Professor and Dr. Afifa Anjum, Assistant Professor along with students and staff members . The director, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique concluded the session with a vote of thanks to Dr. Fatima Kamran for organizing an informative event.
