| 2. | Conducting  cutting-edge research on climate resilience, water efficiency, postharvest  management, biotechnology, and value addition in priority crops such as mango,  citrus, kinnow, vegetables, and flowers. | 
| 3. | Acting  as a hub for knowledge exchange and technology transfer between academia,  farmers, industry, and policymakers. |

| Graduates  of the Department of Horticulture will, within four years of graduation: | |
| 1. | Excel  Professionally —  Serve as competent horticulturists in production, research, extension,  education, or industry. | 
| 2. | Innovate  for Sustainability —  Develop and implement solutions to address water scarcity, climate change, and  postharvest losses. | 
| 3. | Lead  Agribusiness Growth —  Establish and manage entrepreneurial ventures and value-added horticultural  enterprises. | 
| 4. | Contribute  to Society —  Promote rural prosperity, food security, and environmental sustainability  through ethical practice and knowledge dissemination. |
