PU, PepsiCo to launch food safety internship program LAHORE: (Wednesday, July 13, 2016): Punjab University and Pepsi Cola will launch five months Food Safety Internship Program – 2016, extendable up to 2018, for current PU students to develop food safety awareness amongst the students. In this regard an MoU signing ceremony was held at Committee Room of the Vice Chancellor’s office. PU Institute of Agricultural Sciences’ Director Prof Dr Saleem Haider, Director External Linkages Dr Maria Maldonado, Supplier Development & Commercialization Manager Pepsi Cola Izhar ul Haq Awan, Supply Chain Franchise Senior Manager-North Asad ul Azim, PU IAGS’s faculty member Dr Shinawar and others were present on the occasion. The agreement aims at enhancing the professional capabilities and competency level on food safety systems by providing industry exposure to students. This program will help bridge skill level gaps against practical knowledge. This exposure will be helpful for students to become food safety professional for food industries and improve their employment opportunities.
