The Department of Physics, Punjab University organized a workshop on Physics at LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), Switzerland. The focus of the workshop was recent and future research projects of CERN and the discovery of Higgs boson.. Dr. Muhammad Ahmad (postdoc at Tsinghau University, China) and Tahir Javed (PhD scholar at Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), China) conducted the workshop. In their lectures, the speakers talked about experimental and computing facilities at LHC. They also talked about the celebrated discovery of Higgs bosons and recent advances in measurement of its properties. Future experiments and new proposals of LHC were also discussed. The alumni, students and faculty members from the Physics Department and CHEP (Center for High Energy Physics) attended the workshop with great interest.
