PUOWA organizes annual sports and family festival

LAHORE: (Saturday, January 31, 2026): Punjab University Officers Welfare Association (PUOWA) organized the annual sports and family festival at the ground of Hailey College of Commerce here on Saturday. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, Pro-VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Registrar Dr Ahmad Islam, Treasurer Tasneem Kamran, Controller of Examinations Muhammad Rauf Nawaz, Director Sports Dr Muhammad Shabbir Sarwar, PUOWA President Dr Toqeer Ali, General Secretary Rana Muzaffar Ali, Sports Festival Coordinator Malik Sarfraz Khalid, and other administrative officers were present. During the festival, various sports competitions were held among officers, including cricket, tug of war, athletics, and other games. In the cricket matches teams including Registrar Tigers, Old Campus Thunder, Controller Badshah, and IT Eagles participated. In his address, PU VC Dr Muhammad Ali said that sports are essential for physical health. He added that participation in such activities enhances work efficiency and provides recreational opportunities for family members and children as well. PUOWA President Dr Toqeer Ali and General Secretary Rana Muzaffar Ali stated that university officers work day and night, and such sports festivals provide them with a pleasant and refreshing environment. They thanked PU VC Dr Muhammad Ali and all participants for attending the event. The families and children of the officers actively participated in the festival. Food stalls were also set up at the venue. On the occasion, a tug-of-war competition was organized for children. Later, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali awarded the trophy to the winning cricket team, Controller Badshah, and distributed gifts among the children participating in the festival.
