October 16, 2025---The 60th meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) of the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, was held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali (T.I., S.I.), Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Hassan Saqlain, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Islamabad; Prof. Dr. Engr. Muhammad Ali Nasir, Advisor (Research & Innovation), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Akmal, Chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad (joined online); Prof. Dr. Naeem Rashid, Former Director General, School of Biological Sciences, University of the Punjab; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali, Professor, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad; and Prof. Dr. Moazur Rahman, Director, CEMB, who also served as the Member Secretary.

The Board reviewed various agenda items, including confirmation of minutes of the previous meeting, financial and administrative matters, faculty performance review mechanisms, and departmental recommendations, and had thought provoking discussions with the recommendations to uplift R & D work at the centre for commercialization.

The meeting concluded with appreciation for the continued contributions of CEMB faculty and staff toward advancing health and agricultural biotechnology research in Pakistan.
